London –
Timo Werner criticized when Chelsea held 1-1 by Manchester United. He is considered not good when he has the ball or without the ball and often wastes chances.
Chelsea are held 1-1 at Stamford Bridge at home to Manchester United in matchday 13 Premier League 2021/2022, Sunday (28/11/2021) evening WIB. The Blues even had to fall behind first through Jadon Sancho’s goal in the 50th minute. The hosts could then equalize from Jorginho’s penalty in the 69th minute.
Chelsea actually appear very dominant in this match. They recorded possession of the ball by 65.6 percent compared to 34.4 percent of MU.
Troops Thomas Tuchel also continued to attack the Red Devils defense. However, poor finishing made them fail to score the winning goal.
Chelsea made 24 shots over the course of 90 minutes with six on target. Meanwhile, MU only made three shots with two on target.
One name that is most highlighted by the dullness of Chelsea’s front line is Timo Werner. Werner, who was introduced as a starter to fill the position of the injured Romelu Lukaku, is considered to have minimal contribution.
Former attacker Chelsea, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, judged Werner to play very poorly both on and off the ball. According to him, Werner should be able to better take advantage of the opportunities he has.
“Bad. Bad with the ball, or without the ball. With his running ability he is usually very dangerous,” Hasselbaink said of Werner’s performance, quoted from TalkSport.
“In the end you are a number nine, you are judged on the chances you get and what you do with him. It wasn’t good enough, he should have scored one goal out of two chances. In other cases, he should have hit with the right foot but he did. kicks with his left foot. He should have scored.”
“He keeps missing big chances, when it’s 0-0, or 1-0 or 1-1, he shouldn’t have done it again.”
Werner in the match against Manchester United made six shots but none of them led to the goal. Two of his shots were not on target, while the other four could be blocked by a Chelsea defender.
