Chelsea hard to beat Leeds United with a score of 1-0. The Blues’ winning goal was made Wesley Fofana.
In the match held at Stamford Bridge, Saturday (4/3/2023) evening WIB, Chelsea scored the goal in the 53rd minute. Chelsea’s first win in last six league games.
Despite adding three points, Chelsea are still stuck in 10th position Premier League standings with 34 points from 25 matches. Leeds are in 17th position, just one point ahead of Everton in 18th.

The course of the match Chelsea vs Leeds United
Chelsea did dominate from the early minutes, but they found it difficult to dismantle the Leeds defense.
The first opportunity only arrived in the 15th minute when Wesley Fofana’s through ball met Kai Havertz in the penalty box. Havertz is left to face Illan Meslier but can be pushed over.
Chelsea continued to attack and almost scored again in the 22nd minute through Joao Felix. Raheem Sterling’s cross was met by Felix’s volley which still hit the post.
After 25 minutes had passed, Chelsea practically did not create any more dangerous opportunities in the Leeds defense. Meanwhile, the visitors defended more and counterattacked.
Until halftime, the score remained a goalless draw.
Chelsea pressed immediately in the second half and almost scored in the 46th minute when Sterling’s shot in front of goal followed Loftus-Cheek’s cut-back cross.
Chelsea were finally able to break the deadlock in the 53rd minute through Wesley Fofana’s header following Ben Chilwell’s corner. Fofana leaped higher than his opponent and headed over the rebound past Meslier’s reach.
In the 60th minute, Luke Ayling created an opportunity for Leeds. He appeared in the box to shoot the ball but Kepa caught it.
With half an hour remaining in the match, Chelsea delayed the ball more, making it easier for Leeds to build attacks.
Leeds was only able to put pressure on Chelsea in the final minutes when they were able to attack the host’s defense several times. In the 92nd minute, Mateo Joseph shot a gag ball in the penalty box, but Kepa was saved.
Kepa was also able to catch Meslier’s header which advanced into the penalty box in a corner kick situation at the end of the game.
The 1-0 score remained until the fight Chelsea vs Leeds United finished.
