Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-0 to qualify for the final FA Cup. In the middle of the match the Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel scolded jorginho.
The FA Cup semifinal match between Chelsea vs Crystal Palace was held at Wembley, Sunday (17/4/2022). Despite being seeded, the Blues did not have an easy match after being matched by Palace without a goal in the first half.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored against the Eagles to bring Chelsea out of the deadlock in the 65th minute. Mason Mount then sealed Chelsea’s win after scoring the second 11 minutes later.
jorginho played for 77 minutes after being replaced by N’Golo Kante. The Italy international midfielder overall looked pretty good after making 102 touches, having 91% pass accuracy, and making three take-ons and four tackles.
However, there was a moment where Jorginho was enraged by Tuchel, who was standing on the sidelines. The incident occurred in the 28th minute in a situation Chelsea were building attacks.
In a video clip circulating on social media, Jorginho has been playing the ball in midfield for too long, so Palace duo Eberechi Eze and Jean Mateta interrupt him before falling to the ground. Chelsea’s momentum was lost. Tuchel responded angrily while making a gesture with his hand towards jorginho.
“The game was not easy because we played three games in three competitions. It’s always never easy, very physically challenging. We are the team with the most minutes played in Europe, I think. It’s also challenging mentally,” he said. Thomas Tuchel after the match.
With a win over Crystal Palace, Chelsea will face Liverpool in the FA Cup final which will be held at Wembley on 14 May 2022.
