Chelsea are looking to trim their squad during the summer transfer window. The Blues are aiming to make room and could get a nice windfall with the sale of Conor Gallagher.
As our colleague Fabrizio Romano points out, Chelsea is about to say goodbye to its English international midfielder Conor Gallagher. According to the journalist specializing in the mecato, Gallagher is heading straight to the Spanish capital and it is at Atlético de Madrid that he could well land. An agreement is about to be found between the two clubs around an offer of 35 to 40 million euros, bonuses included.
The 24-year-old Englishman, who has been selected with the Three Lions for Euro 2024, will have the last word in this story but he does not seem opposed to a departure for La Liga. Trained at the Blues, the central midfielder is heading for the exit, while his contract ends in 2025. A significant reinforcement for Diego Simeone who wants an additional recruit to strengthen his midfield.
