The English Chelsea announced this Monday that it has reached an agreement to sign the young Ecuadorian midfielder Kendry Páez, 16 years old and from Independiente del Valle, so that he can join their discipline when he reaches the age of majority.
In a statement published on its website, the London club highlights that Páez “has already built a reputation in South America as one of the brightest and most creative young talents of the moment, thanks to his combination of skillful dribbling along with vision of the game. and the technique to open the defenses with his passes”.
He also remembers how this year he made his debut with his senior team scoring a goal “becoming the rookie and youngest scorer in the Ecuadorian first division.”
Kendry Páez has played six games with the senior team this season, as well as making his debut in the Copa Libertadores in May in the 2-1 victory over Corinthians.
“He has also stood out in the U-17 Copa América, with two goals and six assists as captain of his team, and in the U-20 World Cup this summer, in which he started all four of Ecuador’s games, with another goal and three assists.
He was previously named the best talent of the Next Generation Trophy 2022, a prestigious youth tournament held in Austria involving clubs from all over the world.”
