(APS) – Chelsea said on Friday they signed Senegalese international Nicolas Jackson to an eight-year contract.
On social media, the English club announced the arrival of the player, shown (photo and videos) sitting in the stands at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s home stadium, wearing the club’s blue shirt.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano, a specialist in player transfers, announced last week that the London club would pay nearly 25 billion CFA francs for the release clause allowing Nicolas Jackson to join him.
Last weekend, the former Casa Sports player (2019-2020) successfully passed the medical examination prior to signing his contract, according to Romano.
Jackson has played 26 games for Spanish club Villarreal this season.
He scored 12 goals and provided four assists.
The football international started his European career with Deportivo Mirandès, a Spanish second division club, before joining Villarreal, where he became one of the metronomes.
He is the fifth Senegalese international footballer to wear the blue tunic after Demba Ba (2013-2014), Papy Mison Djilobodji (2015), Edouard Mendy (since 2020), and the current captain of the national team, Kalidou Koulibaly, who has just been recruited by a Saudi club.
