Chelsea has spent around 421 million Euros or Rp 7.7 trillion to recruit players this season. The latest is Mykhaylo Mudryk, who was redeemed for 100 million Euros from Shakhtar Donetks this January.
Before Mudryk, Chelsea had signed eight players. Among them Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Wesley Fofana, David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, and finally borrowed Joao Felix.
Fantastic funds disbursed Chelsea make Jose Mourinho ‘intrigued’ commented on it. The Portuguese coach, who has successfully won three Premier League titles for Chelsea, believes that AS Roma will not be able to do that.
“To get that quality, we have to develop young players. (Midfielder Benjamin) Tahirovic has these qualities. I don’t expect anyone to come. Director [Tiago Pinto] very honest and straightforward. He said things a coach wouldn’t normally want to hear. The coach always wants to hear that the club has a lot of money, can buy options a, b, c, d, to build an extraordinary team.”
“That’s the dream. I work for a club with practically unlimited funds. There are more and more clubs that fit that profile today, but it’s not our profile. We work, we give everything, we work with the characteristics we have. We have to look the solution. We can’t buy Mudryk for 100 million Euros,” he said Jose Mourinho.
