“Chelsea Set to Make Bid for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo in Summer Transfer Window”

Chelsea are reportedly set to make another big-money offer for a midfielder, this time Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

The Blues have previously been interested in a move for the 21-year-old, and Arsenal are also said to be interested.

Chelsea could be ready to reignite their interest in Caicedo

Caicedo was linked with a January move to Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea signed Enzo Fernández for around £106.8m.

The west London outfit are set to sign two new midfielders in the summer to join the Argentinian in the middle of the park.

One of them could be Caicedo, with Spanish outlet Fichajes reporting that they are looking to pay around £70m for his services.

The Ecuador international has capped 48 times for Brighton since joining the club in 2021.

Most of his appearances have been this season, and his efforts contributed to the Seagulls’ impressive campaign.

Arsenal saw their £70m offer turned down for Brighton in January, with Caicedo taking to social media to say he wanted to leave.

However, he eventually signed a new long-term contract at the club, which he said was “not a difficult decision” to make.

However, interest will return in the summer, with Chelsea looking to continue their big spending.

They could turn their attention to another Brighton star in Alexis Mac Allister, although he has also been linked with Liverpool.

Former academy prospect and now West Ham captain Declan Rice is also a target for Chelsea, with the 24-year-old valued at more than £100m.

The Blues are also set to bring in a new goalkeeper and striker when the market reopens at the end of the season.

Argentine duo Emiliano and Lautaro Martinez are said to be in the crosshairs of incoming boss and fellow countryman Mauricio Pochettino.

The former Tottenham manager will be the club’s next permanent appointment following the departure of Graham Potter in April.

Chelsea have spent close to £600m on new players since the arrival of the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital estate last year, and their spending will rise further.

It will be a summer of change for London’s west side once again as they look to turn around their dismal campaign.
