French national team midfielder Kurt Zouma was recruited to Chelsea already in January 2014 when he left Saint-Etienne. Seven and a half years later, with 151 Chelsea games under his belt, it is now clear that Zouma will leave Chelsea.
The 26-year-old has signed for London rival West Ham in a four-year contract, West Ham confirms on Saturday night. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano states that Zouma costs 30 million euros, just over 300 million kronor, to buy out.
– I am very happy and very proud. My conversation with the manager (David Moyes) went very fast. I felt that he really wanted me to come here and join the team, says Zouma on West Ham’s website.
At the same time, Chelsea are still negotiating with Sevilla to recruit midfielder Jules Koundé, Romano writes.
