Hakim Ziyech reveals how the Chelsea squad reacted to Romelu Lukaku who recently made a “noise” through his interviews.
In an interview with Sky Italia last week, Lukaku admitted that he was not happy with his situation at Chelsea. He even criticized Manager Thomas Tuchel and fantasized about a potential return to Inter Milan.
Tuchel later called the situation “noisy” and ruled out Lukaku during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool at the weekend. But now Lukaku is back playing, after apologizing.
Lukaku started early in the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup despite not scoring a goal for his team.
Lukaku’s performance was appreciated by Tuchel and Hakim Ziyech also agreed. Ziyech also spoke about how Chelsea players behaved towards Lukaku after his controversial interview.
“The only thing we can do is support him and make him think about nothing else, just focus on the game, and that’s what we’ve been doing in the last few days,” Ziyech told Viasport.
“Like I said, we team-mates have to support each other and that’s what we do. And I think today he was sharp and played well.”
