Chelsea Pay Release Clause Enzo Fernandez

London

Chelsea reportedly ready to pay the release clause Enzo Fernandez. Currently transferring players Benfica it is at a crucial stage.

Chelsea are serious about pursuing Enzo Fernandez in the January transfer market. But their interest was previously thwarted by Benfica’s high valuation.

Benfica is reluctant to release the Best Young Player of the 2022 World Cup unless the release clause is paid. That clause is worth 120 million Euros, or 105.6 million pounds.

But ahead of the closing of the winter transfer market, Chelsea is reportedly increasing its seriousness to the proposal submission stage. They are willing to make up for that clause, as reported Sky Sports and BBC.

If accepted by Benfica and Enzo Fernandez, this will be the most expensive transfer in England, surpassing Jack Grealish’s transfer record. Grealish became the most expensive transfer in English football when he was bought by Manchester City for £100 million from Aston Villa in 2021.

Top specialist transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, said that Chelsea would pay for the transfer in installments. Now the Blues are just waiting for the decision of Benfica President Rui Costa.

Chelsea have been spending like crazy since being acquired by Todd Boehly last year. This January alone, they have bought Mykhailo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, Malo Gusto and Noni Madueke, and borrowed Joao Felix.
