As Chelsea continue to spend lavishly, the Londoners must now focus on departures to meet financial constraints. Having spent over €1.75 billion under Todd Boehly, including €63 million on Pedro Neto this summer, the Blues are now aiming for a drastic reduction in their squad, with a clear objective: to recover around €238 million by selling at least nine players by the end of the 2024 summer transfer window.
Among the players in the hot seat, Romelu Lukaku is at the top of the list. The Belgian, often loaned out in recent seasons, is this time close to a permanent departure, with Napoli ready to offer 30 million euros to attract him. Chelsea initially hoped to get 35 million, but the negotiations could be concluded shortly. Trevoh Chalobah, courted by Crystal Palace, and Armando Broja, in the sights of Stuttgart and Wolverhampton, are also on the way out, with prices set at 30 and 11 million euros respectively.
Other players could leave Stamford Bridge if satisfactory offers arrive. Finally, Conor Gallagher, for whom Chelsea are asking more than 40 million euros, is still waiting for his situation to unblock after the failure of a transfer to Atlético Madrid.
