Chelsea motorist dies in collision with tree

A man died on Saturday night after leaving the road in Chelsea, in the Outaouais.

The tragedy occurred around 10 p.m. near 195 Chemin De la Montagne.

The car, which had three passengers on board, first veered off the road and ended its race by hitting a tree. According to the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police department, one of the passengers was ejected from the vehicle and extrication was necessary to get the other two people out.

The driver of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries.

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of this accident.

Chemin de la Montagne near 195 remains closed to traffic until the collision investigation is completed.
