Chelsea’s season was a disappointment. And the change of coach from Thomas Tuchel to Graham Potter has not had any positive effects so far. The management plan is clear: new personnel are needed.
New club owner Todd Boehly met with Neymar’s representatives during the World Cup in Qatar, writes Simon Phillips, who co-hosts the Si & Dan Talk Chelsea podcast with Dan McCarthy.
Neymar played in just three of five World Cup matches for the Brazil national team due to injury, but was in the starting XI and impressed with two goals and one assist. However, that wasn’t enough, Brazil was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
There had recently been no indication that Neymar wanted to leave Paris Saint-Germain. After long teething problems, the 30-year-old is now feeling comfortable at the Seine, has extended his contract until 2025 and has 15 goals and twelve assists at the club.
