OBJECTIVE! Brighton now beat Chelsea 2-0 in the 14th minute. Brighton took advantage of an own goal by Ruben Loftus-Cheek after missing a corner from the right wing.
Three minutes later, Chelsea almost created a goal in return. Conor Gallagher fired from inside the area which was saved by Robert Sanchez. The rebound falls in Christian Pulisic’s trajectory, but his close range shot is still off target.
Robert Sanchez made another nice save after parrying Gallagher’s spiral shot in the top corner of Brighton’s goal.
In the midst of Chelsea pressure, Brighton nearly scored their third goal. Attack finished by Caicedo with a shot from inside the area and the ball hits the post!
Just before half-time, Brighton scored their third goal and took a 3-0 lead over Chelsea. Brighton once again benefited from an own goal after Trevor Chalobah’s attempt to anticipate a cross from the left actually went into his own goal.
