Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin shared his opinion on Mikhail Mudrik’s debut for Chelsea.
– Many people have previously spoken about his amazing speed, and he is undoubtedly extraordinarily fast, but even that was not what stood out to me when I watched him earlier. There are many fast forwards, but it is his precise ball control and vision when using this kind of pace that is so unusual.
Chelsea fans have probably already seen enough to know that he will be a terrific addition to the team, but I would refrain from calling him the new Eden Hazard. It’s understandable why people think that, but it’s also unfair.
Misha will write his story. In any case, his skill set is slightly different from Eden in many ways, even in how he performs off the ball, while Eden usually liked him to pass most of the time. This shows that this is not a mirror image of our former leader.
On top of that, there is a huge amount of pressure on any new young player to be compared to a club legend. Eden has been our talisman for many years, has long been one of the best players on the planet and one of the most beloved players in the history of our club, so Mudrik has something to match.
However, I acknowledge that our new star has a great chance to join the list of favorite undersized footballers at the club who went on to become Players of the Year. From Cookie to Gianfranco Zola, Joe Cole, Juan Mata, Willian and Eden Hazard, each of them held a special place in the hearts of our fans. If he joins this canon, he will be worth every penny spent on him.
