This Wednesday evening, LOSC will host Chelsea for the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Mastiffs are the last French chance in the competition after the elimination of PSG against Real Madrid last week.
Lille will have to overthrow Chelsea on Wednesday night at home to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals. In the first leg, the champions of France were inclined on the score of two goals to nil. Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge and Chelsea finds itself in a delicate situation. Indeed, the war in Ukraine triggered by Russia has led to a wave of economic sanctions from certain countries. Results, the assets of Roman Abramovich are frozen and the employees of the club must manage on their own to ensure their displacements. This will therefore be the case for the Londoners on Wednesday to go to Lille.
Something to worry the fans of the club a little. But Thomas Tuchel decided to take it all lightly by press conference indicating : “From what I know, we can fly. So you can go there by plane and come back by plane. In the worst case, we’ll go by train. Otherwise, we will take the bus. And if I had to, I would drive a seven-seater myself. Honestly, I will. You can take back my words, I will do everything to make it happen.” Something to reassure a little (or not). Hoping that this meeting between Lille and Chelsea can be played under fair conditions…
