Former Paris Saint-Germain academy player Christopher Nkunku was recently asked if PSG tried to bring him back last summer.
In an interview with Téléfoot last month, the Chelsea star wondered whether his former club had shown any interest in a potential return to the Parc des Princes.
“A Nkunku-Barcola partnership at PSG? (Laughs!) I don’t know what to say about that. But yes, PSG remains a great club. An approach this summer? No, no, no. I always said there was no approach.
Nkunku broke into the Paris Saint-Germain first team in 2015, but moved on in 2019 to explore new opportunities with RB Leipzig. In five seasons in Germany, the 26-year-old has made 172 appearances, scoring 70 goals and providing 56 assists.
Now with Chelsea, Nkunku has already made 29 appearances and scored 11 goals. A return to PSG would align with the club’s goal of bringing back French talent who understand its values and culture.

TBR Football reported on Tuesday that Nkunku is increasingly concerned about his role in the Chelsea team under Enzo Maresca. Nonetheless, the report also notes that the Blues insist they are happy with the way the team is shaping up.
Since joining Chelsea for over £50million, injuries have been a recurring problem for Nkunku, limiting him to just three Premier League starts.
