Chelsea have Werner and Ruediger, good for Havertz

London

Kai Havertz happy to be joining Chelsea. Having two German players there will make the adaptation process easier.

Havertz’s transfer was announced by Chelsea on Saturday (5/9/2020) in the morning WIB. To sign him from Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea had to spend a fund that reportedly reached 100 million euros.

As a result, Havertz officially became the most expensive player for Germany and Chelsea. At just under 20 years of age, Havertz may be burdened with the high expectations Chelsea fans have of him.

Seeing his slick performance at Leverkusen last season, 18 goals and 9 assists from 45 appearances, Havertz is certainly expected to appear even better. Moreover, Chelsea has a better squad than Leverkusen.

Before Werner, Chelsea had brought in several quality players such as Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, and Thiago Silva. Even Chelsea reportedly still intend to target goalkeepers and midfielders.

Havertz admitted that he was happy to be able to play with these top names. Moreover, Chelsea has two of Havertz’s teammates in the German national team, Werner and Antonio Ruediger, which can smooth the adaptation process.

“I think it will be very challenging because Chelsea has a lot of young players. I know some of their players like Timo and Toni, teammates in the German national team,” said Havertz on Chelsea’s official website.

“I am very good friends with them, so I think this is very good for me,” he continued.

“Chelsea also has a lot of good young players, so I think this is a big project and very fun, hopefully we can have great success. I want to win as many trophies as possible and I will try to do my best,” concluded Kai Havertz.
