Chelsea Football Club’s ‘first ever’ stadium iftar in the UK

On Sunday, Chelsea Football Club hosted Iftar at the ‘first ever’ stadium in the UK.

The Iftar event was organized in collaboration with the Ramadan Tent Project and the Chelsea Foundation.

Such an iftar is being described as a historic occasion by a Premier League club in Great Britain.

Chelsea Football Club is the first English Premier League club to break the fast.

During Ramadan, this ‘Open Iftar’ is the largest communal event that allows fasting Muslims to come together.

The event also provides a safe space for interpersonal dialogue.

A number of local mosques, Chelsea FC staff and members of Chelsea’s Muslim community and school students were invited to attend the event.

Chelsea Foundation chief Simon Taylor said of the event: ‘Recognising Ramadan and the Muslim community here is an important aspect of our work to promote religious tolerance.’

‘We are extremely proud to be the first Premier League club to host it.’
