Chelsea have reportedly decided they are not interested in a move for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire this summer.
After a very disappointing season in that Man United shirt last season, which saw Maguire slip down the pecking order, the Englan International have now been dropped as Red Devils Captain.
That has led to all sorts of speculation surrounding Maguire’s immediate future, with claims in the media suggesting Chelsea are now very interested in a potential deal for the defender, who is valued at £50m.
Amid all the speculation and rumours, Chelsea have been told that the right offer for Maguire will see the United star make a move as he doesn’t want to be sitting on the bench.
However, Chelsea have reportedly decided they are not interested in moving, according to a report from the The Guardian.
The report claims that Pochettino is looking for a much younger player rather than adding to the England International.
Could Chelsea sign Harry Maguire?
The immediate answer is yes, they are looking to add another defender to that back line and if they can get Maguire for the right money, he could be a solid defender.
He’s not a bad defender and hardly makes any big mistakes, so it was very easy to see why they were linked with a transfer move.
So if the reports are true and the decision has been made not to make a move for Maguire now, it will be very interesting to see who they try to bring in in the coming weeks as they certainly need someone to come along.
