Even when Neymar created unforgettable moments in his home country of Brazil, the European elite had him on the radar. Chelsea FC pulled the current superstar and his father under its spell with a rather unusual presentation.

For many years Michael Emenalo had been employed in various functions at Chelsea FC. In his work as technical director, the Nigerian was supposed to bring a jewel to Europe that was named Neymar. In advertising for the then shooting star, Emenalo pulled out all the stops.
“That was the first time that Neymar’s father listened to someone for 30 minutes without looking at his cell phone,” remembers Marcos Motta in the Guardian.

Neymar should take Chelsea “all the way to the top”
Under Jordan’s direction, the Bulls slowly matured into a top team and later ranked title after title. In the same role, Neymar should work for Chelsea FC. “You will take Chelsea all the way to the top,” were Emenalo’s words. But in vain.
At the time, Neymar had already decided to only want to move to FC Barcelona. Which he did in the end for the record-breaking € 88 million in 2013.
