Chelsea Dungee — Wikipedia

Chelsea Dungeeborn May 11, 1997 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, is an American professional basketball player who plays as a point guard.

Chelsea Dungee played two years at Preston High School in Preston, Oklahoma and Sapulpa High School in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. While at Preston, she helped the team to the OSSAA Class AA state championship, averaging over 25 points per game.[1]. After her sophomore season, she was named Gatorade State Player of the Year.[2].

Dungee played her freshman season at the University of Oklahoma with the Oklahoma Sooners before transferring to the University of Arkansas with the Arkansas Razorbacks for her final three collegiate seasons. She was named an All-American by the Associated Press and the WBCA as a senior.[3],[4].

Chelsea Dungee selected 5th overall in 2021 WNBA Draft by Dallas Wings[5].

She played her first game on May 15, 2021 against the Los Angeles Sparks, playing 2 minutes and achieving her career high with 3 points.[6]She then played ten games in a row without scoring a single point and equaled her career record on September 8, 2021 against the Connecticut Sun.[7]She finished the 2021 WNBA season with 14 games played for averages per game of 0.6 points, 0.2 rebounds and 0.1 assists in just over 4 minutes of play. She also played one minute of play in the first round of the 2021 WNBA playoffs.

In October 2021, she joined Turkey and signed with Galatasaray SK. In November 2021, she signed with the Sydney Flames in Australia to compensate for Leaonna Odom’s injury.[8]On December 24, 2021, she was released by the Australian club[9]During these three months, she played 2 league matches and 4 Euroleague matches with Galatasaray SK and 3 matches with the Sydney Flames.[10].

In 2022, she ended her playing career.[11].

With the United States Women’s Under-16 Team, she won the gold medal at the 2013 Americas Women’s Under-16 Basketball Championship in Cancun.

Chelsea Dungee will serve as an assistant coach for the Troy Trojans women’s basketball team at Troy University in 2022. She will begin her new role at the start of the 2022-2023 NCAA season.[12].
