Chelsea have built a reputation for sending large numbers of people on loan each season, and some of these players are unable to make a single first-team appearance before being sold. Chelsea defender Matt Miazga is just one example of a player who has struggled to get into the Blues first team, but is still signed by the West London club.
The central defender has spent this season with Anderlecht and has thrived under the leadership of Vincent Kompany. With his future at Chelsea yet to be decided and the impact of Thomas Tuchel’s arrival yet to be determined, the USA international is apparently happy at the Belgian club.

Chelsea defender Matt Miazga is not getting a chance with the Blues
Miazga’s arrival at Anderlecht was the fourth time he has been on loan since joining the Blues from the New York Red Bulls in 2016.
Last season, the 25-year-old racked up 24 appearances for Reading, proving his mettle in the country’s second division. However, it remains to be seen whether his move to the Belgian first division is a further step in his progression with Chelsea, or whether the Blues consider Miazga to exceed the requirements.
The 2020/21 campaign has been a success for the US international. He has emerged as an integral part of the Kompany team, racking up 26 appearances since his move in October.

Speaking to HLN, quoted by Football.London, Miazga, referring to what the future holds, said: “Ask me again later. I would like to be here, but that decision depends on several parameters.
The 25-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2022, meaning the Belgian club would have to offer a fee for his services, should they try to secure his transfer in the coming months.
