The first half did not offer much of a chance, but after the change of sides, the home team dominated. In the 50th minute, Chilwell opened the scoring for Chelsea’s league debut. The 23-year-old left-back, who played in the 100th match in the Premier League, also prepared a second goal for Kurt Zoum’s defense colleague in a quarter of an hour.
Crystal Palace went wrong, and defeating Jorginho from the penalty spots in the 78th and 82nd minute. Chelsea and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy kept a clean sheet for the first time in the league year.
James Rodríguez played a large part in Everton’s home triumph. The Colombian acquisition of Real Madrid scored two goals and set one up for Yerry Mina. Another home goal was scored by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who leads the table of the English league scorers with six hits. Neal Maupay and Yves Bissouma succeeded Brighton.
