Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Chelsea consider the Inter Milan goalkeeper’s asking price for Andre Onana too high.
Onana has recently been linked to Blues, with The Telegraph stating that he is currently on their radar for the next transfer window.
speaking to GiveMeSport Galetti spoke about Chelsea’s interest in the Cameroon cap.
He stated: “Onana could leave Inter in the summer if a suitable offer comes through. Chelsea are seriously interested in the Cameroonian goalkeeper. However, the current price at the Italian club’s request is €50m (£45m) and the Blues consider it too high.”
The Inter goalkeeper recently impressed with his Champions League performance last night. Expert Rio Ferdinand described the 27-year-old’s display as “fabulous” when he spoke to deporte.
Chelsea fans will get another chance to catch a glimpse of him when he plays in the Champions League final against Manchester City on June 10.
When you look at the Blues’ current goalkeeper options, there’s no doubt that Onana would certainly be an upgrade for both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.
With the window still open, perhaps Chelsea will be hoping to haggle over Inter’s set price for his services.
