PORTO – Chelsea won the title Champions League 2020–2021 after defeating another English team, compatriot Manchester City with a score of 1-0 at Drago Portuga Stadium, Sunday (30/5/2021), early morning WIB. After the match, Thomas Tuchel confident will get a special gift in the form of a new contract from club owner Roman Abramovich.
Chelsea scored a goal at the end of the first half through Kai Havertz kick. The Blues’ superiority was able to be maintained until the game was over to make them win the Champions League trophy.
As a result, Tuchel managed to lead Chelsea to the Champions League title for the second time in the club’s history. The German coach also opened up the possibility to extend his contract at Chelsea.

Tuchel managed to answer the trust of the club owner after his role in dramatically replacing former Chelsea coach Frank Lampard in the middle of the season. Chelsea has reaped a significant positive trend, thus proving its success.

He was confident with this success. Tuchel also met with Abramovic on the field after the game was over.
“I’m not even 100% sure but maybe I have a new contract now with the win. It could be. I said something about it but I don’t know. Let’s check this first,” said Tuchel quoted from the Football London page.
“I spoke with the owner on the pitch. I think it was the best moment for the first meeting,” continued the 47-year-old coach.
Tuchel took charge of Chelsea in January 2021, replacing the sacked Frank Lampard. He signed a contract until June 2022
The former PSG coach wants to give even more titles at Chelsea. He feels happy to be part of the club’s history of success.
“I can assure him that I will stay hungry, that I want the next title, I feel very happy and to be part of a very ambitious club and a strong group that fits my current beliefs and passions about football perfectly,” said Tuchel.
“My desire is to win more, my desire is to galvanize the club from the first day of next season to the limit. We have work to do to close the gap and this is what I have.”
