The City of Chelsea is asking residents to reduce their water usage over the next few days so that maintenance can be carried out at its water filtration plant.
The work is necessary to ensure the quality and safety of water distributed following the torrential rains that swept through the region last week.
The water distributed by the municipality is safe and suitable for consumption, but reducing its use will allow the public works department to facilitate its operations.
For example, citizens are advised to reduce the use of household appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines, to shorten showers, to avoid watering the lawn and washing cars, and to turn off taps when not in use.
