The best for last. As dessert, the always highly anticipated London clash between the Chelsea Blues and the Arsenal Gunners will conclude the 11th day of the Premier League, this Sunday.
A meeting which opposes two teams already clinched with almost a third of the English championship. At the top, Manchester City and especially Liverpool are running like hell and prancing in the lead. The two clubs from the north of England leave only crumbs to their pursuers and rivals from London, in particular.
Respectively 4th and 5th, Chelsea and Arsenal have exactly the same number of points (18) and therefore the same delay over the Reds, who are seven lengths ahead of them. No need to draw a picture: between the two teams from the English capital, only victory will be beautiful.
Two clubs in difficulty in the Premier League
At the top of the Europa Conference League, Chelsea annihilated Noah’s Armenians (8-0) on Thursday with a double from Christopher Nkunku. Scores in line with his previous outings on the European scene (4-1 at Panathinaikos and 4-2 against Gantoise). It’s much less easy in the Premier League for Enzo Maresca’s players who are coming off a draw at Manchester United (1-1).
On the Arsenal side, the series of three games without a victory has lasted long enough. Beaten at Bournemouth (2-0) and Newcastle (1-0), the Gunners can no longer do it on the road. And it wasn’t Wednesday in Milan that reversed the trend. Against Inter (1-0), Mikel Arteta’s men suffered their first defeat of the season in the Champions League. For them, there is no other solution than to raise their heads on the Chelsea pitch.
