Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham on alert after potential £59m Milinkovic-Savic transfer boost

Maurizio Sarri has given Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham a huge boost to secure the services of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League of late, with the Lazio boss hinting that his all-encompassing midfielder is finally ready for a summer move.

The Serbian international has played 36 times for the former Blues boss in Serie A this season, contributing directly to 22 goals. Since he took center stage at the Stadio Olimpico, his impressive displays for the Italian giants have attracted the interest of several top European teams.

According to The Mirror, Milinkovic-Savic was among the main targets on Chelsea’s transfer buy list under Frank Lampard. The report states that West Londoners had sent scouts to watch the Serb ply his trade and were ready to bid £70m.

The Lazio midfielder has also attracted interest from Arsenal in the past, according to Italian journalist Giulio Cardone via Radio Sei in 2018, and the North Londoners are keen to rival Manchester United for his signing. The report claimed that Unai Emery’s team had offered Milinkovic-Savic a contract.

Various widespread reports have also linked Tottenham with renewed interest in the midfielder valued at £59m ahead of the summer. However, the trio of London rivals face stiff competition from Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United.

But Sarri has ruled out the possibility of Milinkovic-Savic joining an Italian team in the next window, which has left the door open for Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs to jump on. As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the former Blues boss said: “I’m not sure Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will leave this summer because it’s not easy. But I am convinced that if it happens, Milinkovic will sign for a foreign club and he is not Italian”.
