A return to a country after two mixed seasons at Stamford Bridge, Timo Werner formalized his departure from Chelsea on Tuesday through a publication on his official twitter account. The German international left a moving farewell message to his teammates and supporters of the Blues.
“Dear Blues. Today marks the end of my adventure at Chelsea. I am very grateful for the time spent at this incredible club. I would like to express my affection for my teammates, the coach and his staff and especially for you, the Chelsea supporters. I have felt so much love and support over the past two years and I will never forget that you have been behind me through the good and the hardest times. We lifted trophies like the Champions League and I will always remember the song you wrote and sang for me. I am already thinking about the day when I will one day play at Stamford Bridge again. Note that the one who played 89 games in the colors of Chelsea for 23 goals and 21 assists will return to RB Leipzig. Werner has indeed signed up with the German team for the next four seasons, as Chelsea announced in stride.
