TOP STORY: Chelsea and Spurs battle for Ferguson
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have both expressed interest in the Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Evan Fergusonaccording to Soleil.
Ferguson has impressed at Brighton this season, becoming the Seagulls and Republic of Ireland’s youngest Premier League goalscorer when he scored in a 4-2 loss to Arsenal on New Year’s Eve. The 18-year-old went on to register an impressive three goals in seven Premier League appearances, as well as two assists, making the striker one of the hottest talents in the English top flight.
The report says Spurs view Ferguson as a long-term replacement for Harry Kane, who is approaching 30 and has been strongly linked with moving away from North London over the past year. Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to be rating the striker high, with manager Graham Potter overseeing Ferguson’s signing from Brighton in 2021, when the Republic of Ireland international signed from Bohemians.
The Blues are believed to be eager to bolster their attacking options this summer, with Potter’s side struggling for goals. Chelsea have not scored more than one goal in a match since December 27, when they lost 2-0 to AFC Bournemouth. Since that victory, the West London side have only managed four goals in 10 games.

– Bayern Munich are interested in making a move for Judge Ziyech in the summer, although the Moroccan is believed to have Paris Saint-Germain at heart, according to Transfer market. The 29-year-old midfielder has struggled for consistency at Chelsea since leaving Ajax Amsterdam in 2020, and the report says PSG are eager to steer Ziyech away from Stamford Bridge. The French giants were close to agreeing a loan deal for Ziyech on deadline day in January but due to the late submission of documents, the deal never materialized.
– Manchester United is open for hire Scott McTominay leave the club in the summer, according to Football Insider. The report reveals that the Red Devils value the Scotland international at £25million, with manager Erik ten Hag told by the board that he must offload players to bolster any potential transfer budget for the summer. Although no decision on McTominay’s future has been made, it’s likely he won’t be short of suitors, should United want to let him go.
– Barcelona keep tabs on Manchester City star Rodriaccording Football Insider. It is reported that the Catalan side have started laying the groundwork for a deal which would see the club offer £80million for the Spanish midfielder. With Barcelona looking for a replacement for Sergio Busquets, City are believed to be worried about losing the 26-year-old, who may be keen to return to his native country.
– Manchester United are strongly looking for the New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, according to Tom Bogert. With David de Gea yet to agree a contract with the Premier League side, United are believed to be looking for potential replacements between the sticks. Petrovic, 23, has impressed in New England, with the Serbia international identified as a potential option for the summer, although there has been no official contact between the clubs yet.
– There are no ongoing talks between Al Nassr and Marcelothe Brazilian legend keeping his options open instead, according to Fabrice Romano. The 34-year-old has reportedly not made any decision on his future after becoming a free agent following the termination of his contract at Olympiakos.
