Tiemoue Bakayoko faces an uncertain future. Napoli are considering whether to keep it or not. The player himself is reluctant to stay.
Tiémoué Bakayoko didn’t quite live up to expectations after joining Chelsea from Monaco in 2017. He has since been on loan regularly. AC Milan, Monaco last season and Napoli this season. And at the foot of Vesuvius, his performances were not the most exceptional either, despite 23 appearances (1 goal, 1 assist).
Bakayoko too expensive?
After a good start to the season with a coach, Gennaro Gattuso, whom he had known since his time in Milan, Tiémoué Bakayoko is now less used. Napoli is therefore reluctant to validate the purchase option he has as much as Chelsea set it at 18 million euros. A price that the Italian club is not ready to pay, according to Tuttosport.
For his part, the French international does not see himself spending next season on the bench as has been the case in recent months. Tiemoué Bakayoko is no longer in the plans of Chelsea, club with which he is still under contract until June 2022. The next summer transfer window therefore remains the last possibility for the London club to return a little money on a player bought 40 million euros in 2017.
