Chelsea Amiibo card is unlocked

Amiibo cards from the intersection of Animal Crossing: New Horizons with Sanrio (the people behind Hello Kitty) are now available. There are six cards you can collect, available only at Target in the United States.

Each of them has an image of a trailer filled with furniture themed after a particular Sanrio character, as well as showing a driver who is themed loosely in keeping with that particular character. One of the things I love about this is that the animals they drive are not the same type of character as the character. There is one gorilla representing “Hello Kitty”, a sheep representing the twins, Kiki and Lala, and even a deer representing the pink lop-eared rabbit “My Melody.” They are all designed to look less like the character, but more like a character-obsessed villager. A fan. I love the concept.

Speaking of deer though, this set gives us the S5 card aka Chelsea. This pure white deer with lime green fur and a love for all things pink rabbit comes with a ton of furniture and clothing when his card is scanned at the City Hall ATM and on Harv’s Island. Here are all the things about My Melody that you get with the card.

This is very pink. Most of Sanrio’s furniture has a lot of diversity when it comes to the colors that their products come with, My Melody specializes in all pink and their items go with it.

I will say I love the hood. If I had to pick something that I like best about this set, that would be it.

I don’t really like pink, but I saw it move recently and I’m very happy that the ears are actually moving as your character runs and moves. I thought it would just be a hood, but the ears do flutter and as much as my character probably doesn’t wear it, having the option of having the ears on your character is… weirdly tempting.

And as for the villager herself, like I said, Chelsea is a white stag with lime green hair and pink accessories from My Melody. Normally, you would think that hot pink and lime green would not go well. Well guess what? You’re absolutely right.

Chelsea looks like a deer if that deer wandered around in April and only ate plastic Easter grass and plastic eggs. She… doesn’t look good.

But she is a normal-type villager, although her color scheme is not the same at all. This is good because it is one of the easiest types to maximize friendship, so it does not need a lot of maintenance. If you decide you need this Day-Glo deer on your island, be sure to check it out at the City Hall ATM. You may have to try or two, but you’ll soon have this white scare on your island.
