Chelsea: “40 players for a team…”, Ziyech destroys the Blues!

After three seasons at Chelsea, Hakim Ziyech has decided to relaunch his career with Galatasaray this summer. In the press, he returned to his particularly complicated end to his stay in London.

Hakim Ziyech’s first steps at Chelsea got off to a flying start with a victory in the Champions League in the 2020-2021 season during which he scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists. During his first two years, the Moroccan international was not an indisputable starter, but he still played a significant number of matches with the Blues (39 then 44).

During the last financial year, however, and while the Londoners are stuck in a difficult season, the midfielder rarely steps on the pitch, to the point of being very close to being loaned to PSG at the start of 2023. Some administrative errors later, Ziyech returned to Chelsea where he had almost no playing time. When Galatasaray relaunched, the 30-year-old was not kind to his former club in the columns of Football International.

It was a period full of coaching changes, arguments with the club management, a departure to Paris Saint-Germain that didn’t happen at the last moment and it was disappointing in football terms. We had three teams there with top players. At some point we lose patience. A selection of forty players for a team is simply too many and poses a problem.”

In the middle of the week, the Moroccan distinguished himself by scoring a double in the Champions League to snatch a draw against Manchester United (3-3). The semi-finalist of the last World Cup did it again this weekend with a goal on the pitch of Pendikspor (0-2).
