“I arrived in the Paris region in 2012 to make music my job. These words are those ofhears, a resident of Chelles, in Seine-et-Marne. Artist at heart, professional singer, this woman is fighting to have the profession of artist recognized and to legitimize it with the public and partners. His artist name: Audshine.
“I always wanted to sing”
His last title Romeo was written during confinement. “It was an enriching period from a writing point of view,” smiles the artist.
“I have always loved to sing. When I was young I was part of professional music groups when I was still a minor. I had music in the skin“, confides this young woman with blond hair.
Born in the Rhône Alpes region, Aude grew up in Bourcambresse. It is while growing up that she sees a future in music. For this she is studying musicology on the side of Lyon before taking the decision in 2012 to “go to Paris”.
The pros and cons of being an artist in Paris
“Paris has its advantages and disadvantages when it comes to making yourself known when you’re an artist. There is both the chance to have access to many professionals, production and recording studio scenes… But there’s also a lot of talent, so it’s more difficult to stand out from the others”, explains Aude. Especially since the profession is not always kind to women. “To succeed you have to be young. It is also necessary to pay attention to the behavior of certain men who can be derogatory. Musician, a passion but above all a job
She says she was lucky. “I met my producer, a trusted person which allowed me to go on projects which made me advance in the job. »
In 2023, Aude earns her living through her work, but it has not always been easy. “In the minds of many people, even in the industry, the profession of musician is above all a passion. Only we need to be paid for our work to live. »
Precariousness, a facet of the profession
Being recognized as a professional has therefore become her battle horse. She now wishes, in addition to continuing her activity as a singer, to accompany young artists to get started and to organize themselves.
“When we start we face a lot of pressioncompetition and precariousness. We must not agree to make scenes just on the pretext that we are going to make ourselves known. Of course, we can do one or two scenes to show our work, but above all we must not give up and make it understood that all work deserves a salary and that the craft of an artist is not a hobby. »
Learn behind the scenes
It is moreover with this objective of supporting the young artiststhat Aude is currently undergoing training to intervene in the Fac.
“We have to be taught from the studies, behind the scenes of the profession and therefore, how to organize ourselves”, explains this activist with multiple hats.
