Whether you feed the Secret Service or the KGB, it doesn’t matter, the chef is categorical
Chef Manchev told Nova TV about the dawn of his career, when he worked in a shiny Japanese restaurant in the capital. There, his guests were a number of world-famous politicians and stars.
“In the restaurant where I worked, we welcomed both Bill Clinton and Putin. 6 months before that, the entire hotel was inspected. The exactingness is the same for both.
Bill Clinton eats a beefsteak. He didn’t like cheese and we changed his salad at the last minute because the vegetables started to get watery and I changed his salad at the last minute. They constantly check you, undress you and re-dress you when you enter and leave the kitchen,” says Manchev.
“Whether you feed the Secret Service or the KGB, it doesn’t matter,” he is categorical.
“Both Clinton and Putin have passed through my career. The food is not as important as seeing what happened. Over 50 presidents have passed,” he also revealed.
“If you had done something with the food back then, besides you wouldn’t have become the chef you are, Ukraine probably wouldn’t have gone through what it went through. You could have solved things a long time ago. Ivan, it’s your fault,” Krumova joked.
“Certainly. Then there would be no war in Serbia. I can say that I am also guilty,” he agreed with a smile.
Manchev also recalled the downfalls in his career.
“I was on the brink of bankruptcy because of covid-19. I saved myself because I have differentiated occupations that allowed me to get out. But I can’t say that I’m completely recovered. I failed when I burned the squid of my first employer. I’m not he believed he would fine me one salary, but he was right,” he shared.
