The World Charity Competition for the funniest photo of pets has published the first sample of this year’s films. There is still a month left until the deadline. Last year, the Czech photographer Jakub Gojda was also among the winners with a picture of a horse that “laughs” similarly to its rider. The absolute victory and the prize of almost 60,000 crowns then went to Zoe Ross and her photo of a puppy named Pepper.
The aim of the Comedy Pet Photo Awards is not only to entertain people, but also to support animal protection charities. This year, it intends to donate 30,000 pounds (almost 900,000 crowns) to the Dean Farm Trust, London Inner City Kitties and Wild at Heart Foundation.
“We hope that the images we have just released as an example of what came into the competition will make the audience smile and perhaps also attract other photographers, both amateur and professional, to share their catches,” said competition co-founder Tom. Sullam. “In addition, entry to the junior category is completely free this year and we also have extra prizes for the best video,” he added.
In addition to receiving a financial reward of two thousand pounds, the overall winner will be able to choose a charity from an approved list, which will then receive another monetary donation of five thousand pounds. The finalists, chosen by an expert jury, will be announced in mid-July and the winners in September. In addition, the Public Award is announced this year, in which people can vote for their favorites on the website (it will be possible from mid-July).
