This global crisis is affecting many commodities, but diesel is perhaps the most affected of all.
The list of raw materials of which there is a shortage is truly endless. They range from building raw materials to natural gas, but also to food.
Yet according to experts the strongest shortcomings on a global level are felt precisely on diesel. Precisely for this reason many believe that rationing on diesel fuel will be highly probable.
Rationing on diesel
It is talked about throughout Europe and in fact in Austria a large oil company has already started partial rationing on diesel which is increasingly scarce.
The hypothesis of rationing is no longer considered distant, so much so that even the President of the Dragons Council he said that the Italians must actually prepare for this eventuality. Diesel cars are currently really in the crosshairs for so many reasons. The fact is that we in Italy make a very wide use of diesel because there are so many diesel cars but also because most of our goods are moved by trucks that notoriously use diesel fuel.
But even today those who have a diesel can be controlled
So a country that particularly feels the shortage of diesel is Italy. Many Italians try to save but often do it in the wrong way and in case of checks on their car they risk very heavy fines. In fact, owners of diesel cars can undergo checks on the tank of their car. Let’s see why. The diesel cars can theoretically be driven not only by diesel fuel but also by edible oils and other types of oils. These oils are much cheaper than diesel species these days. Many Italians are actually using this trick to try to save money.
What is the risk with diesel
But if in a police check should it emerge that in one’s diesel car instead of normal diesel there is one of these oils, the penalties would be strong. In fact, putting oil in the engine instead of diesel obviously does not pay the excise to the state and this constitutes a fraud. Moreover using these oils can damage the engine because they are too viscous and engines suffer in the long run. Invitations to use this practice, passed off as a panacea against expensive diesel, are circulating on the internet, but it is important to be wary of this doubly dangerous trick.
