Yesterday the Shchastya checkpoint was fired upon while passing a UN humanitarian convoy. Today the checkpoint is being shelled again.
In the Donbas on Saturday, February 19, the Shchastya checkpoint came under fire, the State Border Service reports.
“The enemy is firing from 82-mm mortars and heavy machine guns. Border detachments are in position. The infrastructure of the road corridor, which should be used to move the civilian population, is being damaged,” the report says.
According to the State Emergency Service, in Shchastia, a fire station was shelled from small arms.
“02/19/2022 at about 11:35 am, information was received that in the Shchastinsky district of the Luhansk region, namely in the city of Shchastya, shelling took place. As a result of shelling from small arms, the gates of the third entrance of the State Fire and Rescue Unit-32 were damaged “The personnel is in the arm tower. There are no casualties or injured,” the message says.

At the same time, Novosti Donbass reports that shelling near the Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint, presumably from a 120 mm mortar.
It is noted that the checkpoint continues to operate normally. But, if the situation worsens, it can be closed.
