The grand winner of a $126 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket sold on March 8 is a New York Lottery subscriber.
This is the first New York Mega Millions jackpot since September 2021, when the jackpot was $432 million.
The cash value of the winning ticket for New York City residents is $52,559,839 before taxes, according to the New York Lottery.
To win the jackpot, all numbers on the winning ticket had to match all five numbers and the Mega Ball, which were 7-18-38-58-24 and Mega Ball 24.
The subscription program offered by the New York Lottery allows players to participate in all drawings for the duration of their prepaid subscription.
The program provides players with a way to order, renew and manage their Mega Millions, Cash4Life and NY LOTTO subscriptions online.
The New York Lottery bills itself as the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.38 billion in fiscal year 2019-2020 to help support education in New York State.
New York Lottery revenues are distributed to local school districts using the same legal formula used to distribute other state education aid.
Larger, low-income school districts receive larger shares of Lottery school funds.
