WhatsApp announced that cellphones with the Android operating system 4.0.4 or earlier will no longer use WhatsApp as of November 1, 2021. Likewise with iPhones that are still running iOS 9 or an earlier version.
WhatsApp urges users to update their operating system or change devices to continue using the app. As is known, the minimum requirement for WhatsApp is an Android phone running the Android operating system 4.1 or later, and iOS 10 or above.
“WhatsApp will no longer support Android phones running the operating system 4.0.4 and earlier on November 1, 2021. Please change to a supported device or save messaging history before that date,” WhatsApp wrote on its official website.

How to check the Android version on a cellphone that doesn’t have Whatsapp
To make sure your cellphone can still access WhatsApp on November 1, 2021, then you should check the Android version on your cellphone.
As for checking whether Android can still be used or not as of November 1, 2021, it can be done manually. How: Click the “Settings” menu, then click “About Phone”.
