Bandung,Sonora.ID – From January to July 2022, there are already 3,572 cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) that occurred in the city of Bandung and seven of them died.
“Currently the weather is very erratic, and this causes various diseases to appear. For that we need to be vigilant. And one of the things to watch out for is dengue,” said the Acting Sub-Coordinator for the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases at the Bandung City Health Office (Dinkes). , dr. “On average, these deaths attack children aged 1-9 years,” said dr. Diamond.
The press release also stated that in the city of Bandung, the trend of cases is decreasing compared to last January.
“The data we saw in January is quite high. Usually cases of DHF appear in the rainy or transition season, so they increase at the end of the year to the beginning of the year,” said dr. Diamond.

In addition, he also stated that throughout 2022, the area with the highest number of cases in the city of Bandung was in Buahbatu District.
“It is also possible that the coverage of the larva-free rate has not reached above 95 percent. So, the area is still found with many larvae,” he said.
“Globally, the factors that make an area prone to many dengue cases usually occur in densely populated areas,” he said.
“In addition, other factors could be that the implementation of the mosquito nest eradication activity or PSN has not run optimally,” he added.
