Lorella Cuccarini’s farewell to “La Vita in Diretta” was transformed into the “live brawl” with the attack on vitriol to Alberto Matano, who although never mentioned, has been defined as “a male chauvinist colleague with the unbridled ego and – yes, let’s face it – with the unexpected male chauvinism of a work colleague. Exercised more or less subtly, but with determination “.
During the last episode, which aired on Friday 26 June, the weather was very tense and the two presenters wore a plastic smile. They never approached each other respecting twice the safety distance and at the beginning Matano left before the black advertising. Over the various connections, sent and sent, they expressed their solidarity with the journalist and when Alberto Matano thanked the team and Cuccarini, this sensationally ignored it.
Worse it was at the time of the final greetings with the two presenters on opposite sides of the frame and shoulders. The controversy triggered by the former dancer had a further aftermath: 15 women of the “VID” staff signed a document, published by Dagospia, in which they expressed surprise and regret for the words of Cuccarini who had just thanked Matano just a month ago for the support: “We felt bewilderment and disbelief at your words. (…). We didn’t expect a conclusion like this. Pretending nothing would be the easiest solution but we feel the need to have our say, as women. (…). We still find it hard to believe the accusations of male chauvinism directed against Alberto. Our experience of working with him has been characterized by respect and professional recognition. Among the signatures was missing that of a historical author of the program: Antonella Delprino. The correspondent explained to a follower on Twitter the reason for his absence: “Why didn’t I sign the reply? I knew that response would go public. I’m old-fashioned. Lorella and Alberto will receive my answer. Not you. “
