Anyone who has a car with license plates ending 7, 8, 9 and 0 and has not yet paid the Motor Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA) needs to pay attention to the tax payment schedule in October. The deadlines that end this month are valid for vehicle owners who chose to pay in five installments and for those who will pay in a single installment, without a discount.

On the 30th and 31st of October, the deadlines for paying the fifth installment or single quota without discount for cars with license plates ending 7 and 8 expire, respectively. Owners of vehicles with license plates ending 9 and 0 who paid in installments must pay the fourth quota on the same dates. The other payment deadlines in a single installment in 2023 are in November, the 29th for plates ending in 9 and the 30th for those ending in 0.

IPVA payment can be made at branches, ATMs, through the Banco do Brasil, Bradesco or Sicoob app or website, simply by presenting your Renavam number.

The IPVA payment calendar is available on the State Finance Secretariat website (www.sefaz.ba.gov.br), on the Electronic Inspectorate Channel – IPVA – Calendar. If you have any questions, you can contact the Sefaz-Ba call center from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, on 0800 071 0071, for landline calls, and (71) 3319-2501, for landline and cell phone calls, or send an email to [email protected].

The State Department of Traffic of Bahia (Detran-Ba) reinforces that the complete licensing of the vehicle includes other items in addition to the IPVA. For the car to be in good standing, it is also necessary to pay off annual licensing debts and possible fines, if any.

Another alert is regarding the issuance of the Electronic Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV-e). The document is no longer sent to the taxpayer’s address and must be printed or generated as a digital file to be saved on the cell phone after full licensing payment.

The CRLV-e can be issued using SAC Digital, at www.sacdigital.ba.gov.br. You will need to enter a username and password or, for those who are accessing it for the first time, register. For more information, visit www.detran.ba.gov.br.
