Harleen Frances Quinzel, a name that very few know. But those who spent their childhood watching Batman: The Animated Series know that it’s about Harley Quinnthe great love of Joker, the well-known villain of DC Comics.
Quinn went from being a doctor and psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum to becoming an ally of The Joker. She was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for the aforementioned show and her popularity was such that she would soon become a regular part of the DC Universe. Her first appearance was in 1992 in episode #22, Joker’s Favor.
The character, at present, is closely related to Margot Robbie, the actress who gave life to Harley Quinn in the considered extinct DC Extended Universe (DCEU, for its acronym in English). However, the gymnast has also been interpreted by other faces, such as My Sarah en Birds of Prey (2002) y Cassidy Alexa in the acclaimed Arrow.
The popularity of the villain has inspired fans around the world to want to dress up and do makeup like Harley, but an American cosplayer reached another level with a bodypaint cosplay.
Harley Quinn’s amazing bodypaint cosplay
Michelle Foard, better known on Instagram as michellefoord and with more than 3,000 followers on the social network, shared two photos of her Harley Quinn bodypaint cosplay.
As we can see, the model painted her body and achieved the necessary details with latex to match Harley Quinn’s classic costume, with which she debuted in Batman: The Animated Series, red and black. The makeup looks perfect too and she is carrying the dangerous Joker’s love mallet.
“I’ve never done anything like this before, but man am I so glad I did!”, wrote the cosplayer, who offered details of her experience doing this type of cosplay and the challenge that “getting out of the comfort zone” meant.
