JawaPos.com – As scheduled, Xiaomi through its sub-brand, Redmi finally officially presents the new Redmi K60 series. The Chinese tech company has finally brought a new Redmi series family just weeks after the launch of its Xiaomi 13 series.
The Redmi K60 series features the regular version, the Redmi K60 Pro and the K60E variant. This device is here to bridge the gap between mid range phones and flagship devices. They offer attractive specifications with an attractive price.
Reporting from Gizchina, here are the detailed specifications for the new Redmi K60 series:
Redmi K60
The new family of the Redmi series starts with the regular version of the Redmi K60. The new phone packs a 6.67-inch, 1440-pixel AMOLED display, which is uncommon among phones in this category. This device also has a 5,000 sq mm cooling system with a vapor chamber.
The screen is flat and sticks out with the usual hole in the center for the selfie camera. Under the hood, the Redmi K60 has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset which is well known for its performance.
This is a very attractive option as it puts mid-range phones on par with most 2022 flagship devices. The chipset is paired with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM and has up to 512GB of storage .
The Redmi K60, which is offered starting at a price tag of around IDR 5.6 million, features a rectangular camera module with a new luxurious design. The phone has a triple camera setup led by a 64MP shooter with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro sensor, and a 16MP selfie camera.
Redmi K60 Pro
Next up is the Redmi K60 Pro, the flagship line of the Redmi K60 family. With its category present for the middle class, the Pro variant is said to bring it close to ordinary flagships.
For example, the Redmi K60 Pro packs a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution, a term the Chinese brand uses for a powerful 3,200 x 1,440-pixel display. The phone can reach a maximum brightness of 1,400 nits and also has the same punch hole in the center.
The panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+. The screen also houses the underlying fingerprint scanner. The company has also introduced a new Auto-Brightness 2.0 feature. It consists of new algorithms that learn and adapt to your usage.
What is interesting about this model is the processor i.e. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. With that chip, the phones get the same performance as the more expensive 2023 flagships.
This phone also features a decent camera setup at a price that starts at around IDR 7.5 million. The primary camera is a 50MP Sony IMX800 shooter with OIS and EIS. There are also some smart AI features like object recognition and filters.
Executives say the experience and quality are similar to using a movie camera. Other sensors are an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP macro camera. Unfortunately for this model there is no telephoto or periscope for advanced zooms.
Redmi K60E
The latest Redmi K60E as the cheapest series brings the same 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 1440 pixels. The panel has a brightness of 1200 and 10-bit color. It comes with the same hole punch design and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top.
The main camera is a scaled down 48MP, but still integrates OIS. The other two sensors are an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The battery of the Redmi K60E is the same 5,500 mAh with 67 Watt fast charging and no wireless charging.
Behind its guts, the Redmi K60E comes with MediaTek Dimensity 8200. It has UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM, while the other two get the new UFS 4.0 and LPDDR5X standards and are priced as low as IDR 4.9 million
