Activision and Treyarch drop the official launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Check out the campaign trailer here.
Call of Duty fans will no doubt not be able to wait for Black Ops Cold War. After the successful beta the actual release, however, is in the offing. To warm up before the release in the cold months dropt Activision the first launch trailer for Black Ops Cold War. In it we don’t so much get to see new settings, but more details about the already known story beats.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launch trailer
As before promotional material from Black Ops Cold War, this trailer also spins New Order’s iconic 80’s tune Blue Monday. Entirely in Call of Duty spheres, it is also a full remix. Think bass drops, beats underlined by explosions, and pauses for some dialogue. Speaking of which, President Reagan is passing by once again, as is Black Ops veteran Woods.
In the launch trailer we only encounter story elements. So we again see passages that take place in Vietnam. But also more modern gunfights in the streets of Miami and Berlin. All this seems to indicate a slightly less bombastic CoD than we are used to. Of course there will still be plenty of explosions, but Treyarch seems to alternate large-scale wars with intimate firefights.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 12 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. Oh, and check the multiplayer trailer here.
