Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Russian war in Ukraine is still ongoing today. The latest news, the battle at the Azovstal steel mill in the city of Mariupol seems almost over. This became known after hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers remaining at the facility were evacuated.
Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said an operation to evacuate the Ukrainian soldiers who were holding out at the Azovstal factory in Mariupol was the only way to save them.
“Unfortunately, military blocking is not possible in this situation. There is no other way to save them other than the way that is happening now. That is the only way out,” said Malyar, Tuesday (17/5/2022).
According to Malyar, thanks to the Mariupol defense arena, Russian troops were unable to transfer about 20,000 personnel to other regions of Ukraine, and thus failed to capture Zaporizhzhia.
