Chechen Leader Offers Prisoner Swap for Lifting of Sanctions on Family Members

The pro-Kremlin leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has offered to release Ukrainian prisoners of war in exchange for the lifting of sanctions against members of his family.

The leader expressed his ideas in Grozny at a meeting of the employees of the security structure, which was also attended by the American Scott Ritter, one of the main propagandists of Russia abroad.

“We have prisoners that we captured in Donetsk, Luhansk [apgabalos]. Handing over to our guest [karagūstekņu sarakstu]. If they lift the sanctions against my mother, my daughters and innocent people, horses, except for me, (..) then we will return these people,” Kadyrov was quoted as saying by Russian media.

Kadyrov gave Ritter a list of captured Ukrainian soldiers, he was also shown a video of the prisoners.

One of the soldiers says in the video – if the sanctions imposed on Kadyrov’s relatives, planes and horses are lifted, 20 Ukrainian soldiers will be able to return to their homeland.
